A compound studied in hundreds of rodent experiments with almost no published data on where it goes or how long it lasts

Published 26 October 2026 · REVIVE LAB UAE Research Desk · 5 min read
Until recently the BPC-157 literature contained effect studies but almost no measurement of the peptide itself in blood or tissue, so half-life, distribution and metabolism were inferred rather than known. A small number of rodent studies published in the 2020s have measured plasma concentrations after administration by several routes and described rapid clearance and metabolism to smaller fragments, consistent with what the chemistry predicts for a 15-residue peptide without stabilising modifications. No human pharmacokinetic study has been published, because the one clinical programme reported nothing. The gastric stability that defines the compound is a statement about survival in acid, not about absorption, and the two should not be confused.

What the chemistry predicts

A short, unmodified, proline-rich peptide with a free amino terminus is cleared in minutes from the circulation by peptidases and the kidney. Its prolines slow some endopeptidases and its lack of aromatic residues spares it from others, so it may last somewhat longer than an average 15-mer, but not by orders of magnitude. Oral absorption of intact peptide across the gut wall is expected to be very low, as for peptides generally.

None of this is specific to BPC-157; it is the class pharmacology described on the MOTS-c pages.

What has been measured

Recent rodent work using mass spectrometry has reported plasma concentration curves after administration, with rapid decline and the appearance of truncated fragments. These studies are few, from groups outside Zagreb, and they begin to fill a gap that stood for thirty years. They do not address humans.

Any statement about how long the compound persists in a person is unsupported by data.

Why it is here

Because the absence of pharmacokinetics is one of the most important facts about this compound and is rarely stated. It describes the literature and no use of the pack.

The BPC-157 + TB500 blend is supplied by REVIVE LAB UAE for laboratory research use only, with identity by mass spectrometry and purity by HPLC for each component of the batch. It is not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing, administration or protocol guidance is provided.
