Why a single solution suits three peptides unequally

Published 24 October 2026 · REVIVE LAB UAE Research Desk · 5 min read
Solubility of a peptide depends on its net charge, which depends on pH relative to its isoelectric point. Three peptides have three isoelectric points, so any single pH leaves them with different charges and different solubilities. For the copper complex, pH also governs whether the coordinating nitrogens stay deprotonated and the copper stays held.

Charge and solubility

A peptide is least soluble near its isoelectric point, where its net charge is near zero, and more soluble as pH moves away in either direction. GHK-Cu, TB-500 and BPC-157 have different sequences and therefore different isoelectric points, so a pH that favours one does not necessarily favour the others.

This is general peptide chemistry and applies to any blend; it is stated here because it is easy to overlook when one diluent is supplied for all three.

The copper adds a constraint

The coordination that holds copper in GHK-Cu depends on deprotonated nitrogens. At lower pH those nitrogens protonate and the complex weakens; at higher pH copper hydroxide can form and come out of solution. The window in which the complex is stable is a property of the complex, not of the two plain peptides.

A pH chosen for the peptides is therefore also a pH imposed on the copper chemistry.

What this does and does not say

It describes why dissolution behaviour of a blend is more conditional than that of a single compound. It does not state a pH, a volume or a method; REVIVE LAB UAE supplies the material and a defined diluent and provides no guidance on preparation.

The GLOW blend is supplied by REVIVE LAB UAE for laboratory research use only, with batch identity by mass spectrometry and purity by HPLC. It is not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing, administration or protocol guidance is provided.
