Who Developed IGF-1 LR3 and When?
This period of growth-factor research was broadly focused on understanding how IGF-1 signaling worked at the receptor level, and researchers needed reagents that would let them isolate and sustain that signal experimentally without the confound of rapid IGFBP binding seen with native IGF-1. Engineering N-terminal modifications, whether through extension (as in IGF-1 LR3) or deletion (as in Des(1-3)IGF-1), was the structural solution the field converged on.
IGF-1 LR3 was never developed with an intended therapeutic application in mind and has never progressed through any pharmaceutical approval pathway. Its entire history and continued documentation in the scientific literature relate to its role as a laboratory research reagent for studying IGF-1 receptor biology, not as a drug candidate.
Since its development, IGF-1 LR3 has also circulated outside legitimate academic and pharmaceutical research channels, including in the unregulated research-chemical and bodybuilding-supplement markets — a separate and much less well-documented history from its original scientific origin. REVIVE LAB UAE does not participate in that market and does not sell IGF-1 LR3.
