The counterion nobody puts on the label, times three

Trifluoroacetic acid is used to cleave synthetic peptides from resin and in HPLC purification, and it remains as a counterion to basic residues unless exchanged for acetate or chloride. Each GLOW component was synthesised and purified separately, so the blend carries the TFA load of three processes. That mass is part of the 70 mg and is not peptide.

Where it comes from

Cleavage from solid-phase resin uses concentrated TFA, and reversed-phase purification commonly runs in dilute TFA. Basic side chains — lysine, arginine, the N-terminus — pair with trifluoroacetate, and lyophilisation leaves it in the cake. The more basic residues a peptide has, the more TFA it can carry.

GHK carries a lysine and a free amine; the thymosin fragment is lysine-rich; BPC-157 has one lysine.

Why it matters for a blend

The label states 70 mg. Some fraction is counterion and water rather than peptide, and that fraction differs by component. Net peptide content — the mass that is actually peptide — is what a certificate should state per component if the composition is to be known precisely.

TFA is also not inert in cell systems at higher concentrations, which is one more reason to know how much is present.

What a certificate can state

Counterion identity, TFA content and water content per lot. Where exchange to acetate has been done, the certificate says so. Lot documentation for GLOW is available on request.

The GLOW blend is supplied by REVIVE LAB UAE for laboratory research use only, with batch identity by mass spectrometry and purity by HPLC. It is not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing, administration or protocol guidance is provided.
