Is Tesamorelin an Approved Medicine Anywhere?

Published 2026-10-26 · REVIVE Peptides Research Desk · 1 min read
Short answer: Yes, for one indication. The United States FDA approved tesamorelin in November 2010 under the brand name Egrifta, for the reduction of excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. That remains its only approved use. The research material listed by REVIVE LAB UAE is not Egrifta and is not supplied as a medicine.

The approval rested on two phase 3 trials published by Falutz and colleagues, which measured visceral fat by CT scan over 26 weeks. Everything else written about tesamorelin — in healthy people, in other conditions — is research outside the approved indication.

Approval in one country for one use does not make a compound a medicine elsewhere or for other purposes. This page states the regulatory fact and nothing about use.

REVIVE LAB UAE supplies the pack for laboratory research use only. It is not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing, administration or protocol guidance is provided.
