What Did the Tesamorelin Phase 3 Trials Report?

Published 2026-10-26 · REVIVE Peptides Research Desk · 1 min read
Short answer: In adults with HIV-associated abdominal fat accumulation, the phase 3 trials published by Falutz and colleagues in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2007 and in a pooled analysis in 2010 reported visceral adipose tissue, measured by CT, falling by about 15% over 26 weeks in the tesamorelin groups while it rose slightly in the placebo groups. IGF-1 rose and the effect reversed when the compound was stopped.

The trials enrolled several hundred participants and used CT scanning of the abdomen as the primary measure, which is why the result is stated as a change in visceral fat rather than in weight. Subcutaneous fat changed little.

These are the trials behind the 2010 approval. They are cited here as published science; the pack is supplied for laboratory research and no guidance is given on its use.

REVIVE LAB UAE supplies the pack for laboratory research use only. It is not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing, administration or protocol guidance is provided.
