What Did the Stanley 2014 Tesamorelin Study Report?
Short answer: A randomised placebo-controlled trial in adults with HIV and abdominal fat accumulation, run over 12 months at Massachusetts General Hospital and published in JAMA in 2014 by Stanley and colleagues. It reported that the tesamorelin group had reduced visceral fat and a reduction in liver fat measured by spectroscopy, while liver fat rose in the placebo group. It extended the earlier 26-week findings to a year.
The study is cited because it is the main published source on tesamorelin and the liver, a question the original phase 3 trials did not measure. The same group later ran a trial in HIV-associated fatty liver disease, published in 2019.
As with every trial cited on this site, the paper reports what the groups experienced and is not a protocol for the pack.
REVIVE LAB UAE supplies the pack for laboratory research use only. It is not for human or veterinary use, and no dosing, administration or protocol guidance is provided.
